Ras Mohammed National Park is the first natural reserve declared in Egypt in 1983. It is located at the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula, where the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba. It is considered one of the most important marine reserves in the world due to its unique biodiversity. Geographical Location: It is about 20 km south of Sharm El-Sheikh. The park covers an area of approximately 480 km² (including both land and marine areas) and overlooks the Red Sea directly. Environmental Importance: It contains more than 220 species of coral reefs and over 1,000 species of fish. It is home to sea turtles and dolphins and serves as a migration corridor for birds traveling between Europe and Africa. It is considered one of the richest marine biodiversity areas in the world. Landmarks Inside the Park: Marsa Breika Beach, Ras Mohammed Main Beach, the Mangrove Lake, the Earthquake Crack (formed by an ancient earthquake), and a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the sea. Park Features: Exceptionally clear waters, rare marine diversity, and pristine, unpolluted nature. Tourist Activities: Professional diving, snorkeling, boat and yacht trips, underwater photography, desert safari trips, and bird watching. Visiting Rules: Touching coral reefs is prohibited. Collecting shells or marine creatures is prohibited. Visitors must follow environmental regulations. Best Time to Visit: From March to November. Water temperatures are moderate throughout most of the year.
